There is a talk about the occupied factory movement in Venezuela, Tuesday, 17th april, 6.30pm (National University of Ireland, Maynooth, North Campus, Humebuilding, room JHL2).
The talk will include the showing of a documentary about thestruggle for workers' control in Sanitarios Maracay. Theworkers are actually running the factory through a workers' council.
The speaker will be Francesco Merli, from Hands OffVenezuela (HoV).
The talk aims at showing the differences in classconsciousness and activism between workers who are explicitlychallenging
capitalism and the labour movement we are used to, which, in normal
times, only aims at wage bargaining, particularly in the richest
countries of the world.
