We are having our first Hands Off Venezuela event this year at the
University on Wednesday 15th October. We will be meeting at the Boyd
Orr building at 7:30 PM. There will be signs directing to the room as
we don't have one confirmed yet.
The subject of the meeting
will be the siutaiton in Venezuela and the building of a socialist
alternative in light of the crisis of capitalism unfolding in front of
us. We have two speakers lined up. Fristly Patrick O'Hare- a student
studying at St Andrews University,and member of the Scottish Socialist
Party who visited Venezuela during the presidential elections in
Debember 2006 and also visited some of the occupied factories. We also
have Rob Sewell speaking. Rob is the poltiical editor of the Socialist
Appeal journal and is part of the Hands Off Venezuela steering
committee. He has also visited Venezuela as part of a HOV delegation.
We will have plenty of time for disucssions and questions.
